Hotel Suliko hosts Georgian writer Tamta Melashvili
“Told and Untold Stories – Germans in Georgia”
We are pleased to invite you to a book presentation with Tamta Melashvili on Thursday, the 21th of December at 16 pm in Hotel Suliko. Tamta Melashvili is one of the most well-known Georgian writers. Some of her works have already been published in German and multiply awarded. Her debut novel “Counting Out” was awarded the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis (German Youth Literature award). In Georgia she is for the most part known as a publicist with a focus on Feminism in Georgia and women’s migration. After living in Germany and Switzerland for some time Tamta Melashvili resides in Tbilisi again.
Her latest publication: თქმული და უთქმელი ისტორიები: გერმანელები საქართველოში (Told and Untold Stories – Germans in Georgia) taken from the real-life stories of German colonists in Georgia has been published in Georgian only so far and is already sold out at bookstores.
